Freedom from Worry, Pt. 3 (Matthew 6:30b-34)
Part of the The Sermon on the Mount series, preached at a Sunday Morning service
Sermon preached on Sunday, September 11, 2011 at Garden Valley Chapel; Matthew 6:30b-34
The trouble with us as Christians is that we do not realize our relationship to God. We do not realize what we are in relationship to Him.
And so our Lord reminds us and this truth comes to us in timely manner for all of our hearts are "prone to wander, Lord I feel it, prone to leave the God I love; here's my heart [my heart that is so full of worry], O take and seal it; Seal it for Thy courts above."
Our Lord reminds of our relationship to Him and what we are in relationship to Him.
- We are His slaves, He is our MASTER.
- We are His children, He is our FATHER.
- We are His subjects, He is our KING.
This is the basis of His command to every one of His children,
"Do not be worried."
We have already taken a look at the first two; and so we invite you to listen to our Lord's third reason why we are not to worry.
