Bestowing Blessings on Others (Ephesians 6:21-24)
Part of the The Book of Ephesians series, preached at a Sunday Morning service
Sermon preached on Sunday, August 4, 2013 at Garden Valley Chapel during our morning worship service based on Ephesians 6:21-24.
Take your Bible if you will and open it to the book of Ephesians chapter six - where we will conclude our journey in Ephesians.
God is the supreme Blesser who bestows goodness. It is He who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing.
This is how Paul began his letter in Eph 1:3 -
3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ,
James affirms this eternal truth in James 1:17 -
17 Every good thing given and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shifting shadow.
God blesses because He is the source of all blessing / of every good thing.
Goodness can only come from God because there is no source of goodness outside of God. He alone is good and He bestows goodness to His own.
Are you not grateful that He is?
Paul was and it prompted him to imitate the Supreme Blesser. There was no greater calling or purpose in his life than to imitate his Lord.
Paul reproduced that same goodness in wanting to bestow blessing on others looking to God the Father as the Bestower of every good thing, of every blessing.
Read Ephesians 6:21-24.
